Goal:

At SSM Health, we are committed to maintaining optimal staffing levels across all departments and ministries to provide exceptional care to our patients and those we serve. This led us to create The Wisconsin Regional Float Pool to meet the needs of all of our Wisconsin-based ministries and have the right staff in the right places at the right time.

What is the Wisconsin Regional Float Pool?

It’s a group of clinicians who float to multiple health ministries across SSM Health depending on the staffing needs and are compensated based on experience, specialty and flexibility. To qualify, candidates must have two-three years of recent and relevant experience, be recognized for their level of competence, and be courageously independent and commit to float to multiple SSM Health Wisconsin ministries.

How does it work?

  • Employees receive an assignment by calling an automated message center one and one-half hours prior to their scheduled shift and will be deployed to ministry with greatest needs.  Some assignments may be pre-identified and communicated in advance.
  • Positions are available for full-time (72 hours/pay period) or part-time (40-48 hours/pay period) and require a minimum of every third weekend commitment during a 28-day schedule period.
  • Additional scheduling commitments are dependent on full- or part-time status
  • Additional education will be required depending on number of ministries worked.

Where we work:

  • Northern Region includes our Greater Fond du Lac Ministries- Includes St. Agnes Hospital, Waupun Memorial Hospital and Ripon Medical Center.
