Registered Nurse - RN - Post Anesthesia Care Unit - PACU

CareerStaff Unlimited is looking to hire a PACU Registered Nurse for full-time, 13-week contract opportunities in Miami, FL! This position is 10-hour day shifts. Qualified nurses will have previous PACU experience and have a strong focus on patient care. We are accepting travel nurses for this opportunity. Apply now!

MORE ABOUT THE RN REGISTERED NURSE – PACU POST ANESTHESIA CARE UNIT POSITION:

CareerStaff Unlimited partners with companies around the country to raise the bar in healthcare by settings new standards for quality care and personalized services. Responsibilities for this Registered Nurse opportunity include, but are not limited to:

  • Assess plans and evaluate the nursing care needs of the patient after a surgical procedure
  • Provide post-operative nursing care, comfort and support to the patient undergoing surgical procedures
  • Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings and monitor vital signs
  • Maintain infection control policies and protocols while actively monitoring situations which could lead to a breach in those processes
  • Ensure the proper handling of specimens
  • Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
  • Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems
  • Evaluate, monitor and document the status of the patient during the recovery phase
  • Incorporate a sense of wellness by allowing the patient’s family to be reunited with him/her as soon as feasible and by encouraging self-care by the patient
  • Provide discharge instructions to the patient and caregiver, asking for confirmation of understanding
  • Perform follow up patient assessment by calling the patient the day after surgery

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE RN REGISTERED NURSE – PACU POST ANESTHESIA CARE UNIT:

  • 2 years of previous PACU experience
  • BLS issued through American Heart Association
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Eligible and active RN license in the state of Florida
