AMN Healthcare is partnering with a local school district to hire a School-Based Psychologist for a job near the Tumwater Washington area. This job will be working with one of the top districts in the area to provide services to children of all ages. Requirements include a graduate-level degree in School Psychology, as well as an internship one academic year in length consisting of at least 1,200 hours of supervised practice (600 of which must be in a school setting. The School Psychologist will work with the district assessment team comprised of an Educational Evaluator and a Speech-Language Pathologist to complete all special education eligibility determinations. Additionally, the School Psychologist will consult with school-based teams on behavior and therapeutic concerns. Clear, articulate written and verbal communication is a must, as is the ability to explain results to a varied audience. Candidates with previous school experience a plus! Essential duties for the School Psychologist will be to provide counseling services to students on IEPs as well as to the regular education population (mood disorders, autism, anxiety, depression, ADHD, social skill deficits, conduct disorders) in order to foster positive coping strategies, motivation, and skill development. This person will also coordinate outreach activities that support students and families including pediatricians, outside counseling agencies and agencies such as DCF, DMH, etc Other Job Requirements include: Completion of a criminal record check and licensing as a School Psychologist by the State Department of Education.
