POSITION OVERVIEW: CVOR Surgical Technician
Responsible for maintaining the sterile field in the operating room, being constantly vigilant to see that proper aseptic techniques are utilized to prevent contamination and infection. Required to assist the surgical team as the sterile member who passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery. Assists with prompt turnover of surgical cases, case setup and proper care of surgical instruments and equipment. Performs delegated patient care duties.
SHIFT: Day/Evening shift, Variable Days/Times, Participates in call rotation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of surgical tech program. 2-3 years as a CVOR Surgical Technician.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
- Surgical Tech Certification preferred
- BLS Certified
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Basic medical terminology and anatomy, asepsis and sterile technique. Basic computer and keyboarding skills. Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
