If you have a Compact License you will be required to obtain a Texas RN License within 90 days of hire.</li><li>You should have a current American Heart Association BLS Certification</li><li>You should have a minimum of six months of clinical experience as a licensed RN in the specialty area of hire.</li><li>Approved for and maintains requirements of the MHS Nursing Clinical Excellence Program RN </li></ul> We are seeking experienced nurses to work Specialty Surgical Unit at Methodist Hospital. The Special Surgery unit is a dynamic unit providing staff members bothprofessional growth and personal job satisfaction. The care delivery models we use are primary care which also utilizes the patient-focused care model. Our Specialty Surgical Progressive Care Unit offers the following: <ul><li>32 bed unit </li><li>Patient-to-nurse Ratio is 1:4/5( with PCT support) </li><li>Caring for a wide variety of post-surgical patients, some example are: </li><li>Tracheal Esophageal Surgeries </li><li>Colorectal Surgeries </li><li>Tracheostomy </li><li>Laryngectomy </li><li>Thyroidectomy </li><li>Breast Surgery </li><li>Lung Surgery </li><li>Complex abdominal related procedures </li><li>Urology </li><li>Woundvacs </li><li>Tele capable unit </li><li>Dedicated Education unit where nursing students are routinely present completing clinicals </li><li>Highly motivated and high performing floor </li><li>This floor prides itself on maintaining some of the highest scores for patient and employee satisfaction across the division. </li><li>This unit was recognized in 2019 and 2021 as an HCA Unit of Distinction in the PCU category. </li></ul> Methodist Hospital opened in 1963 as the first hospital in the now internationally acclaimed South Texas Medical Center.
