The University of Maimi is currently seeking an MRI Technologist 1 to work at Applebaum MRI Center in Miami. The incumbent performs intricate procedures in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) through the operations of radiographic equipment to obtain highest quality of diagnostic images. Independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative are essential in addition to responsibility for designated areas, procedures and equipment. Moreover, an employee in this position performs diagnostic imaging examinations to facilitate the ability of physicians, radiologic technologists, and supervisors to find abnormalities and make a proper diagnosis.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

1.Operates MRI equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic and research purposes.
2. Sets up imaging area and selects appropriate coil based on information from exam triage form, attached
referring physician order, and patient’s screening form.
3. Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of
specific areas of the body.
4. Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
5. Follows safety procedures by assessing the patient physically and reviewing applicable notes and forms
in patient’s file.
6. Performs daily quality assurance measurements on MRI equipment.
7. Reports and documents any equipment issues to the appropriate senior staff.
8. Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and
regulations.
9. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University asset

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology /Diagnostic Imaging Program

Certification and Licensing:

Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer.

ARRT registered with ARRT certification in primary modality.

Experience:

Minimum 1 years of relevant experience
