Health Center Nurse - Part Time

Provide nursing care to undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences of Eastern University. Provide basic care for illness and injury, triage for students, referrals to appropriate health providers, health education and Testing for Covid-19.1.   Provide direct patient care: assess patient, triage health needs, take vital signs, brief history of illness or injury, provide appropriate care, and assist physician as needed. 2.   Evaluate and refer students to appropriate care provider/services as needed. 3.   Administer Immunizations, Flu Vaccines, Medication and Treatments according to policies and procedures. 4.   Maintain a safe environment, minimize risk, universal precautions, clean exam rooms as needed. 5.   Assist in developing and updating policies for the Health Center. 6.   Document clear concise nurses notes in a timely manner 7.   Must be familiar with Electronic Health Records 8.   Assist students with referrals, follow up test and hospital visits as needed 9.   Maintain confidentiality, compliance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations 10. Ensure student health information is accurate in computer database 11. Review health records for incoming students 12. Perform standard laboratory tests offered by the Health Center 13. Assist in Contact Tracing 14. Perform Wellness checks on students in Quarantine/Isolation 15. Assist with health/wellness events on campus  16. Perform all other duties assigned by the Health Center Director, and Vice Provost 1.        Requires PA license LPN 2.        CPR Certification 3.        Minimum of 2-year experience preferred 4.        Annual physical exam 5.        Negative TB result  6.        Proficient knowledge of emergency triage/interventions preferred 7.        Ability to relate to students in a non-judge mental manner 8.        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 9.        Professional in attitude, appearance and able to conduct yourself accordingly during stressful/emergent situations 10.      Ability to lift supplies 11.       Any other tasks as requested by the Director of the Health Center   Status: Part-Time 24 hours per week for 10 months  Occasional Saturdays are required Accountability and oversight Report to: Director of the Health and Wellness Center
