Summary New Grad Residency Program Overview: * 8 weeks for medical-surgical residents * 12 weeks for emergency and ICU The nurse residency program at HSHS St. Mary's Hospital offers a dynamic and engaging experience that will positively impact the nurse's ability to provide quality, compassionate care to patients as the new nurse transitions from student nurse to professional nurse. Quality health care begins with developing our caregivers. The graduate residency program facilitates the transition of new nurses to professional practice with an eight to twelve week orientation that combines classroom lectures, hands-on activities, clinical scenarios including simulation and support of a highly-skilled education team. The program then transitions to monthly support sessions featuring topics that help strengthen and enable new nurses with skills and strategies to be successful in their clinical practice. Additional Information: * Starting hourly base rate of $34/hr * Sign on bonus for applicable departments * To learn more about career opportunities and speak to an HSHS recruiter please email Tara DeRosa at [email protected] Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families, and supervising assigned team members. Qualifications Education Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice is required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. Experience Previous healthcare or service industry experience is preferred. Certifications, Licenses and Registrations Illinois: License pending in Illinois is required. Obtaining licensure within 45 days of receipt of Continental Testing Services (CTS) letter is required. Wisconsin: Temporary Permit is required. Obtaining licensure within three months of temporary permit issue date is required. A temporary permit may be renewed once for an additional three-month period. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
