Pre-Operative / PACU RN

JOB TITLE: Pre-Operative/PACU RN Shift: 4 days, 10 hours/day, 0630-1700 GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: * Direct and be accountable for the nursing care of patients in the Pre-Operative Assessment and Testing outpatient setting * Ability to teach and share knowledge with ancillary services (anesthesia), and physicians in patient preparation for surgical procedures. * Ability to multi-task with excellent telephone communication and charting skills * Strong empathy when dealing with the patient and family undergoing surgical interventions * Good interpersonal skills * Organize and deliver pre-operative patient education, based on the specific needs for the patient * Task include gathering histories and performing physicals, use anesthesia guidelines for pre-operative testing if not previously ordered by surgeon. Gather and evaluate lab work, EKG's, and surgical clearances Qualifications Must hold current license for a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia 2+ years experience in Pre-Operative Setting
