City/State Norfolk, VA Overview Work Shift Third (Nights) (United States of America) Sentara Norfolk General Hospital located in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a RN Traveler for the IMCU Admissions/Discharge Unit! This is a Temporary Full Time Night Shift Position. Must have two or more years of current RN acute care hospital experience. Contracts begin soon for 14+ weeks. $75 per hour for a contract and Potential $5000 Sign on Bonus. Eligible for $5000 Sign on Bonus living more than 50 miles from the facility working. Department/Position Overview: This is a 16 bed Unit. The Nurse: Patient Ratio is 1:4 to 1:5. Patient Population: IMC/Med Surg- Anticipate DKA, Alcohol Withdrawal, COPD exacerbation, Sickle Cell crisis, CHF exacerbation, Renal Failure, Dehydration, I&D The Registered Nurse will work in a collaborative role as part of a team to maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice, in order to meet the health care needs of patients, their families, and the community. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire; Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire; Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
