Discover all the possibilities of a career at Northside today. The Lead Pharmacy Technician primarily serves as a medication reconciliation technician in the Emergency Department. Works closely with ED pharmacists and staff to conduct patient medication history interviews and gathers accurate medication information for patients admitted to inpatient status. Medication reconciliation hours are 7 days a week, 12pm - 1030pm. The Lead Technician will work in a 7on/7off capacity. At times, when assistance is not needed for medication reconciliation, the Lead Technician will assist the pharmacy department with variety of vital functions including sterile compounding, main pharmacy support, materials management/automation support and specialty areas (NICU, oncology, etc) as training permits. This position provides organizational and technical support to ensure proper preparation of pharmaceuticals and compliance with established protocol and guidelines for pharmacy operations. Employee should have high customer service skills, demonstrate flexibility to work in a variety of pharmacy areas, possess good time management skills and have a positive, outgoing attitude. REQUIRED * Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia * Three (3) years of health system pharmacy experience OR advanced pharmacy role from an outside institution OR experience as a Pharmacy Technician IV at Northside Hospital with demonstrated proficiency in five identified functional areas such as but not limited to Production/Distribution, Sterile Compounding, Non-Sterile Compounding, Retail Pharmacy, Materials Management/Inventory, Investigational Medications, Patient Assistance Medications, Offsite Practice Medication Management. * Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam recognized by the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy with certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA). * In lieu of certification, Pharmacy students with Georgia Board of Pharmacy Intern License with a minimum of three (3) years of pharmacy experience. PREFERRED * Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician or pharmacy training program.
