Float Nurse (1:1 Assignment)

Float Nurse (32.5 hours/week - Remainder of the Year Only) SCHOOL YEAR 2023 - 2024 The Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is now accepting applications for a school float nurse position that is available at Harding Avenue Elementary School for the remainder of the 2023 - 2024 school year. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The School Nurse will provide direct support to a student in a 1:1 setting. If/when 1:1 support is not required, the float nurse will assist the Lead Nurse in the organization, administration, and implementation of school health services and will function as a contributing member of the school health team QUALIFICATIONS: * Current license to practice as a registered professional nurse or a licensed professional nurse in Virginia * One year of nursing experience * Current certification in CPR and First Aid * Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills * Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families * Demonstrate the ability to work and collaborate with other team members * Ability to be dependable and punctual PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) * Previous experience in public health or general nursing, preferably in school nursing or community health nursing with children
