Public Health Nutritionist II

Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or a directly related field; OR a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or a directly related field, plus two years of work experience in public health nutrition or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience provided that the minimum education requirement is met Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications * At the time of employment, must be registration eligible Dietitian awaiting full Registered Dietitian (RD) credential awarded by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Proof of written approval from the Commission is required. RD credential must be completed within twelve (12) months of hire. * Must be a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation within six months of hire Selection Criteria This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral part of the interview will be selected Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following: * Registered and Licensed Dietitian in the State of Illinois * Previous experience in Maternal/Child Health ALL REFERENCES TO POLITICAL SPONSORSHIP OR RECOMMENDATION MUST BE OMITTED FROM ANY AND ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS SUBMITTED FOR CITY EMPLOYMENT.
