X-Ray Technologist

The Department of Radiology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time X-Ray Technologist / TH Medical Radiographer 1. The successful candidate will: * Perform diagnostic imaging including general x-ray, portables, fluoroscopy and all other applicable. * Be familiar with all diagnostic equipment including portable and fluoroscopic equipment and the operating room. * Demonstrate the ability to produce high quality images efficiently regardless of volume. Performs exams in accordance with established protocols. * Demonstrate the ability to provide assistance to external and internal customers. Provide excellent customer service. * Be responsible for patient care while performing imaging, to include accuracy of patient identification. * Be able to deal with emergent situations. * Maintain principles of ALARA * Demonstrate the ability to teach House Staff or other personnel in the technical aspects of imaging equipment. * Demonstrate prior experience with computerized patient information systems, including Radiology Information Systems and PACS. All Exams must be completed immediately in RIS and verify on PACS. * Be responsible for burning CD's and DVD's when necessary. * Demonstrate flexibility as hours may change on as needed basis according to departmental operating needs. * Adhere to all SUNY Downstate Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures, to include principle of behavior. * Maintain a courteous and pleasant disposition with patients. * Perform other job-related tasks as required based on business demand. Required Qualifications: * New York State Radiographer License. * A.R.R.T registration required. * A.A.S degree or equivalent. * 2+ years of experience in all diagnostic x-ray procedures. Preferred Qualifications: * Hospital experience preferred.
