Job Description Assists Cytology Pathologist with fine needle aspiration specimens. Prepares stains, mounts and labels slides. Participates in microscopic screening of cytology preparations. Observes and records tests results. Job Responsibility * * Prepares stains, mounts and labels slides. * * Participates in Cytology conferences, Quality Assurance Program and quality control of the Laboratory. * * Assists Cytology Pathologist with fine needle aspiration specimens. * * Participates in microscopic screening of cytology preparations for the presence of carcinoma, related neoplasms and disease processes. * * Correlates abnormal Cytology Laboratory findings and document the appropriate departmental records. * * Maintains workflow and quality of work to assure timely accomplishments of assigned workload. * * Observes test results, and records necessary data on laboratory report. * * Maintains equipment. * Performs related duties as required. * ADA Essential Functions Job Qualification * Bachelor's Degree in Cytotechnology, required. * Licensed by New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Cytotechnologist (or as appropriate to area of assignment), required. * Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
