Registered Nurse - SDS/PACU

PRN 364 White Oak Street Nursing Days Plans and directs preparation and recovery of surgical patients. Nursing care is provided in compliance with the philosophy, objective and standards of Randolph Hospital, Surgical Services, and is compliant with the Nurse Practice Act of North Carolina and recommended practices of the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) and Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses AORN). Demonstrates strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Adapts to changing situations in a positive manner. Is a team player and works collaboratively with physicians, especially surgeons and anesthesiologists, for the patients' needs. Ability to assess patients across age continuum and make sound nursing judgments in implementing safe practice In both patient prep and recovery phases of surgical care. Staffing assignment will be in both the Same Day Care and Post Anesthesia Care units, with call requirements in PACU. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Current RN license in North Carolina or multistate, has applied for license and is a RN or license pending. Current BLS, ACLS, & PALS. Medical/Surgical, critical care or PACU experience highly preferred. Demonstrates independent decision-making and effective problem solving related to patient care. Prefer minimum two years medical/surgical, critical care, PACU or ambulatory surgery experience.
