Job Description ECU Health About ECU Health Medical Center ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people. Position Summary Starting base pay rate at $30/hr; Up to $30K Commitment Incentive * Responsible to provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents. Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice. * Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members. Identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family. * Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team. Collaborates with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care. Delegates tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act. Minimum Requirements * Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher is required. * Current NC RN license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state Health Care Provider is required. * American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required. Other Information This position is full-time (36hrs/week and day shift) and benefiit eligible. Rehab Medicine is an acute unit that provides care to various population of patients. Some of our patients are admitted directly from Intensive Care in order to begin improving better outcomes for the patient and to hopefully reduce the length of stay for the patient. Listed below are some of the common diagnoses of our patient's population included but not limited to: * Orthopedics, Amputations, Cardiac, Respiratory, Debility, Trauma, Vents, Spinal Cords, and Stroke * Specialized care for adults and geriatrics * 1000 admissions a year and Average LOS: 15 days Rehab Medicine unit mission is to provide outstanding patient care and improve the functionality of the patient, in hopes of returning these patients back to home and the community functioning at the highest level.
