Job Summary Weekend only role! Work 3 out of 4 weekends. $9hr premium pay plus base rate and weekend differential. Shift: Weekend only nights: Fridays and Saturdays 7pm-7:30am * Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. * Deliver excellent nursing care through evaluations, planning, implementation, and documentation while serving a diverse patient population with complex concerns. * Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. * Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. * Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Oncology Department Overview: * 27-bed medical/oncology unit that provides care to adult and geriatric medical oncology patients, surgical gynecology patients, sickle cell patients and in-patient hospice patients. * Most patients have a primary and/or secondary diagnosis of cancer and require treatment of chronic and episodic illness, therapeutic interventions, and side effect management. Care is also provided to patients in the terminal phase of illness. * Unique services provided include chemotherapy administration and side-effect management, blood administration, management of oncologic emergencies, pain management, psychosocial and spiritual care, and inpatient hospice care. * Be a part of our talented team of nurses practicing within our dynamic, advanced, and highly technical patient care areas.
