Job Summary Join a talented group of more than 75 dietitians at the University of Virginia Health System in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia. At this level one trauma center, dietitians play an integral role on multidisciplinary teams in many specialty areas, both in the 675 bed inpatient setting, as well as in over 35 outpatient clinics. RD's participate in research and quality improvement projects, host dietetic interns, and are supported in pursuing leadership and community service experiences. Continuing education opportunities are plentiful from within the accomplished nutrition team and from the health system which values ongoing training and education. This position will be 30-40 hr/wk in Metabolic/Genetics. Offering opportunities for professional growth, this position will work closely with physicians, genetic counselors, and 2 other RDs to manage patients of all ages with inborn errors of metabolism (IEMs) in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. This position also involves shared responsibility for monthly satellite clinic coverage (in person or virtually) as well as weekly phone outreach for home monitoring and nutrition management of established patients. Metabolic RDs will also be closely involved with state newborn screening and any patients detected through this program. Occasional shared weekend and evening coverage is required for patients with emergent needs in the hospital. The position also involves participation in clinical trails for select patients. Experience working with IEMs is not essential as on the job training will be provided; experience working in pediatrics is recommended Qualifications: * Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) * Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing/Credentialing Board, in states where required * One (1) year of hospital experience, preferred * Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft office applications, electronic medical record & diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming Apply to Morrison Healthcare today!
