Discover all the possibilities of a career at Northside today. * Serves as a role model of excellence in nursing knowledge and clinical practice. * Major roles of the Clinical Specialist include those of practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, change agent, and Clinical Guideline Manager. * Utilizes clinical practice expertise to serve as a role model for collaborative practice model. * Develops clinical guidelines for high-risk/high cost patients through clinical pathway systems. * Conducts clinical research; assists nursing staff in applying research findings and pathway data analysis results as they relate to patient outcomes. * Monitors resource utilization to assure appropriate level of utilization. * Assists with the development and evaluation of policies, procedures, and standards of care; ensures consistency of clinical guideline documents and hospital-wide policies with recognized regulatory and specialty standards. * Facilitates resolution of individual patient care variances. * Serves as a patient advocate and as a resource for complex patient care situations. * Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury‑accident to Manager. * Master's Degree in Nursing from an Accredited College or University. * Minimum (3) years experience in Labor & Delivery. * Effective analytical and organizational skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. * Demonstrated ability to educate others and serve as a positive change agent.
