Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for population with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols. Vaccine administration and management for all age groups, child health screenings for school entry, and lab services as indicated including phlebotomy and pregnancy testing. Serve as back-up to Travel Clinic by assessing the need for malaria prophylaxis and follows protocol and CDC recommendations. Counsel clients on other risks they may encounter when traveling. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties. Essential Functions (include, but are not limited to): * Function in a Registered Nursing role in accordance with CDPH Nursing Protocols, policies and procedures. * Responsibilities include service provision for clients of all ages, infants through adults in a busy, walk-in public health setting. * In accordance with Georgia Immunization Program (GIP) and ACIP guidance will: provide immunizations according to recommended, age appropriate vaccine schedules; manage vaccine inventory; enter vaccines administration into local and state systems; and provide Immunization Certificates and histories as indicated. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND one year of PHN experience AND completion of PHN course within one year of hire AND a current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification. Preferred Qualifications: Public Health Nursing experience. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Georgia as well as skills in basic computer functions and communication. Previous experience in vaccine provision and management. Previous M&M computer system experience. Previous GRITS (Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services) experience. Work Conditions & Physical Demands Position does not require an excessive physical exertion but is not a sedentary position. Requires occasional lifting of less than 50 pounds, walking to/from workstation and other clinical areas, and assisting with positioning and restraint of infants and children during vaccination. Salary Information: $35.00/ Hour / Up to 29 hrs./ week | No Benefits * Current state employees' salary will be subject to State Personnel Board rule provisions.
