Shift Full Time - Nights About us: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is the region's first Magnet Hospital. It is a 525-bed medical center, serves as a primary teaching facility, and home to the area's only Level 1 Trauma Center within a 126-mile region. In addition, the hospital is home to the Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance that provides sophisticated critical trauma care. The Norfolk General Hospital's Emergency Department is a 53-bed unit. Our Trauma One Facility is equipped to handle a variety of medical emergencies, and approximately 10% are Trauma related. Job Description: The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. Requirements: * Previous Nursing experience in a hospital setting. * VA License or multi-state license in good standing. * ADN required, BSN or higher preferred. * Experience in Emergency Dept a plus!
