Job Details Job Location: Oak Point University - Chicago, IL Position Type: Per Diem Education Level: 4 Year Degree Salary Range: Undisclosed Description Essential Functions These positions will assist as needed in this unique program which is an employer-University created to allow learning while working in a lab three days a week. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. * The positions have the opportunity to be remote for didactic and there could be some opportunity as well for hands-on lab work at our Oak Brook Campus in Oak Brook, IL. * Instructs students didactically in clinical laboratory science in the classroom setting; utilizes effective educational methodologies and technologies to provide curriculum to the students; coordinates and supervises student laboratory instruction; maintains technical expertise in clinical areas of instruction. * Ensure adequate delivery of clinical laboratory curriculum for all disciplines. * Assist in preparing and maintaining budgetary expenditures within the fiscal guidelines. * Identifies the areas of the program in which meeting the qualifications necessary to teach. These areas include: Hematology, Immunology/Serology, Clinical Chemistry, Blood Bank and Microbiology. * Evaluate student performance and provide feedback. * Report back to the director what worked well and what didn't during the time of teaching. Other Duties * Collaborate with other faculty for the design, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the curriculum * Fulfills course responsibilities as a member of teaching team. * Attends required Teaching Team meetings and trainings Qualifications Competencies * Effective verbal and written communications skills. * Effective time management and organization skills. * Enthusiastic and passionate about working with students from a variety of backgrounds. * Able to manage multiple tasks and set priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Able to work independently with a minimum of supervision. * Online teaching experience Supervisory Responsibilities Does not supervise other employees Work Environment Lab and computer based work Physical Demands Able to work in a Lab environment as well as teaching didactic. Travel Requirement Within the Chicagoland region. Education and Experience * Bachelor Degree required, Master's Degree (Preferred) * Minimum of 3 years - Related work experience in a clinical laboratory and didactic and/or clinical teaching experience * Medical Laboratory Scientist(MLS/ASCP)/Medical Technologist(MT/ASCP) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or related certifications (BB/C/H/M- ASCP) with related work experience of a minimum of 3 years full time employment. Additional Qualifications * Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Power Point, Teams, Excel and Access. Familiarity and adaptability to student and learning management systems. * Online teaching experience Key Performance Indicators As indicated by Program Director
