Staff Nurse


* Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing * Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited colleges or universities - HIGHLY PREFERRED * One (1) year in cardiac and nuclear stress testing * New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse * Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) * Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) * Knowledge of Cardiac Medications * Knowledge of stress testing protocols * Knowledge of Holter monitor * Knowledge and Ability to perform conscious sedation * Knowledge of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory procedures - PREFERRED * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Computer knowledge and skills * Multidisciplinary team and patient. * Computer application skills - ALLSCRIPTS, EPIC, Microsoft Excel * Excellent written and communication skills Performs nursing functions necessary for the performance of testing which includes EKG, Holter monitor, regular stress testing, nuclear stress testing, stress-echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography. Assists in all activities of Cardiology Practice which may relate directly or indirectly to patient care, including Cardiology clinic, Cardiac rehabilitation, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, CHF clinic and Device check clinic. Provides professional nursing care to all people of all ages and their families. Utilizes knowledge of nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate and document care. Formulates nursing diagnosis for treating actual or potential health problems, teaching, counseling and providing care. Delegates appropriate tasks to assistive nursing personnel. Displays professional practice as set forth in The Brooklyn Hospital Center's standard of care, and the institution's mission and goals. .
