Responsibilities The Gynecologic Oncology Center at Mercy is one of the top rated Gynecologic Cancer Centers in Baltimore and throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Mercy's renowned cancer center provides advanced treatment options for ovarian, cervical and uterine cancers. The Clinical Nurse supporting GYN Oncology demonstrates knowledge of women's health issues and women's health care and must evidence the ability to apply this knowledge in assessing and interpreting patient information. Additionally, the staff member should evidence competency in planning and implementing individualized care based upon the needs of the patient. * Demonstrates the knowledge, skill and clinical coordination to provide guidance to the patient * The Advance Clinical Nurse participates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to provide well-coordinated, timely, compassionate, exemplary and interdisciplinary care. Serves as an essential link between patients and all other caregivers. * Manage and inform patients of results and provider recommendations * Responds to patient request for information regarding the disease process and community resources * Send prescriptions electronically per provider instructions * Assess post-operative concerns with patients and communicate with providers * Administer injections * Provide a variety of in office care i.e. Foley removal, staple removal, wound care * Respond to patient MyChart messages Requirements *

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school (Preferred). Associates with years of experience will be considered. High School Diploma or GED required. * License Requirements: * RN License with the State of Maryland Board of Nursing * Certification Requirements: * CPR Healthcare Provider Certified * Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel * Microsoft Outlook * Meditech (if applicable to position) * Epic (if applicable to position) * Performance Manager/NetLearning * Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: * Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. * Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. * Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. * Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees. * Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. * Other Requirements: * Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology at a level normally acquired through completion of approved training programs. * Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients, visitors, employers, and hospital personnel in exchanging and relaying information and in providing client care. * Able to work independently with frequent interruptions. * Follows written and oral instructions. * Knowledge of exam room duties and use of office equipment. * Must have excellent telephone demeanor. * Must possess and promote excellent health, hygiene and grooming habits. * Capable to draw blood and perform EKGs * Ability to prioritize workload for the most efficient performance.
