Specialty Laboratory Technologist - Mount Sinai Brooklyn - Full-time night


Description To assure that the Employee is technically competent, possesses required education and experience as well as other behavioral skills and performs their responsibilities accordingly. To demonstrate that the employee's performance is evaluated and appropriate training- in service is provided. To assure that the employee is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Department and the Hospital Center. Responsibilities Roles & Responsibilities: * Duties may include based on candidates experience: Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Blood Bank * Type and Screen, Crossmatching -Gel and tube technology. * Assist in procedures, quality control, enter results into LIS, follow Lab policy and procedures. Read manual differentials, Knowledge of automated equipment. Knowledge chemistry and hematology and instrumentation. * Must perform maintenance and troubleshooting procedures as required. * Performs Quality control and maintenance procedures as required. * Must be proficient in manual differentials and body fluid cell counts. * Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation * Performs all lab tests and procedures as they pertain to the specific activities of the blood bank: ABO/Rh typing, Antibody screening, Cross matches, auto/directed units, DAT testing * Performs Quality control and maintenance procedures as required by the department. Performs manual differentials, normal and abnormal, cell counts, coagulation procedures, Urinalysis. * Performs other duties as assigned by the Department Manager Qualifications Requirements: * NYS Licensed Medical Technologist, BS degree required in Science. EOE Minorities/Women/Disabled/Veterans Compensation The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $49.1385 - $60.2503 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
