Advanced Practice Nurse - Emergency Department


# Position Purpose:# To provide direct patient care in collaboration with the Emergency Department physicians# while integrating education, research, management, leadership, and consultation into the clinical role.# # Essential Functions (list in order of importance including measures) # Provides direct patient care, including ordering and evaluating of diagnostic tests and managing of procedures according to established clinical practice guidelines and in accordance with the privileges granted by the Department of Emergency Services.# # Identifies deviations from normal and consults, co-manages and refers patients as appropriate according to established clinical practice guidelines and in accordance with the privileges granted by the Department of Emergency Services.# # Serves as a resource for staff nurses and physicians in the Emergency Department to facilitate the coordination of care and the movement of patients through the continuum. 20% # Provides individualized patient/family teaching, health counseling and health advocacy services to patients, their families and significant others.# # Completes all required documentation in a timely manner.# # # Marginal Functions (list in order of importance) # Performs both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital#s confidentiality norms and standards.
