Clinical Nurse I; PICU; 36hr/wk; NIGHTS

Department/Unit: Pediatric ICU-E7 Work Shift: Night (United States of America) Hourly Range: $33.00 - $33.99 The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), is a 19-bed multidisciplinary unit that cares for the most critically ill children in our area. Treating patients 0-21 years of age experiencing, but not limited to, respiratory illness, trauma, sepsis, neurological disorders and diabetic ketoacidosis. The PICU also cares for patients who require complex surgical intervention that includes neurosurgery and pediatric open-heart surgery. Our PICU nurses' staff the pediatric critical care transport team, travelling to outside facilities to stabilize and safely return patients to Albany Medical Center to receive the specialized care they need. * Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations. * Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions. * Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered. * Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions. * Collaborates with the nursing team and family to create a Plan of Care for all patients. * Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
