Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient (50% FTE, rotating/variable shifts)

This recruitment offers a $4,000 Recruitment Incentive to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine#UWMRecruitmentIncentive The HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER INPATIENT PHARMACY is looking for an outstanding PART-TIME PHARMACY TECHNICIAN (50% FTE, ROTATING/VARIABLE SHIFTS) to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team! The Pharmacy Technician 1 assists the Pharmacist in professional activities and performing assigned tasks. Under the general supervision of a registered Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will engage in preparation and packaging of medications and other pharmacy-related functions. Strong candidates will have knowledge and experience with sterile intravenous admixture practices preferred, and good communication and organizational skills. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Fill medications from Pyxis refill sheets for the entire hospital. * Deliver medications to nursing units and other areas of the hospital. * Package medications in single-unit packages. * Perform bulk compounding of pharmaceuticals from a formula, under the supervision of a Pharmacist. * Work in the IV room and compound IV medications. REQUIREMENTS: Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant OR equivalent education/experience. LEGAL REQUIREMENT: State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification.
