Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Cardiac Critical Care)


Job Summary We are searching for a Patient Flow Nurse Coordinator - Cardiac Critical Care Services - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will manage daily clinical and personnel activities for the Heart Center. You will participate and coordinate the delivery of high quality, family-centered and developmentally appropriate patient care. Lastly, you will collaborate with ancillary departments to ensure timely and appropriate care progression. Think you've got what it takes?• will support all areas of the Heart Center (neonates to adults)• pediatric experience a plus (Adult experience OK) Responsibilities Specific Duties• Develop, implement, and lead a standardized and consistent patient flow practice which supports efficient and effective delivery of high quality patient care. • Responsible for the facilitation of patient flow, knowledge of appropriate placement of patient bed assignments, requests for patient transfers, internal as well as external, and knowledge of cardiac surgical schedule. • Work in collaboration with Heart Center Charge Nurses, Nursing Leadership, and Providers to ensure optimal patient movement for the day. • Coordinate patient movement across various departments and subspecialty services by demonstrating commitment to the team, flexibility, professional interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and customer service skills• Collect and maintain data on patient referrals and consults, to effectively manage the program and comprehensive database of subspecialty patients• Act as a patient advocate in maintaining communication and promoting continuity of patient care within the department, multidisciplinary teams, and referring/community physicians• Support staff in the development of their schedules and monitors the effectiveness of the process and staffing needs• Since 1954, Texas Children's has been leading the charge in patient care, education and research to accelerate health care for children and women around the world.
