Operating Room Charge Nurse


We are currently hiring a full-time CHARGE NURSE to work within our Surgery Department. Compensation Range: $45.66 - 73.06 per hour Non-Exempt Night and weekend shift differentials up to $6 per hour! Compensation package is based on your specific qualifications for the role. Requirements: * Meets minimum qualifications and requirements for primary OR RN role. * At least 2 years of experience in primary OR RN role. * Proven record of exceptional performance in primary OR RN role. Position Overview: The Charge Nurse provides leadership for an assigned shift within the Perioperative unit by delegating tasks among team members, supervising performance, and collaborating with others. In addition, the Charge Nurse takes on a regular patient load in the primary job assignment and is recognized as a role model by their peers. * Manages the overall patient flow through the department. Coordinates inter- and intra-facility patient transfers. * Determines staff assignments and distributes workload among team members based on individual abilities, census, and patient acuity. Monitors work and takes proactive measures to resolve challenges and ensure high-quality patient care. * Oversees and mentors staff during assigned shift. Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care provided. Ensures staff members on assigned shift comply with hospital policies and procedures and follow industry best practices. Identifies performance issues, documents occurrences, and communicates concerns through established channels. * Assists with problem-solving and implementation of corrective measures. Responds to complaints about patient care and related services. Escalates issues through established channels as appropriate. * Takes patient assignments and provides direct patient care as outlined in the job description for their primary role. Assists other team members with their patient assignments. * Adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and established procedures to ensure a safe, compliant, and ethical work environment.
