Nurse Supervisor (UTHP Ob-Gyn MARC)

Job Summary: Supervises and coordinates the day-to-day activities of nursing personnel in one or more patient care units. Job Duties: 1. Assists with supervising and participates in patient care operations. 2. Implements operational practices and makes recommendations for continuous quality improvement initiatives. 3. Verifies patients' needs are met and evaluates unit nursing care and performance. 4. Ensures adherence to institutional, divisional and unit based policies and procedures as well as external regulatory requirements. 5. Participates in planning work of assigned units and coordinates activities with other patient care units and related departments. 6. Plans and organizes training for unit staff members, and participates in guidance/educational programs. 7. Performs all other duties as assigned. Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. Experience may be used in lieu of degree. Experience: Five (5) years of professional nursing experience is required. Additional Licenses and Certifications: Current Texas RN license is required. Supervisory Requirements: * Has the authority to direct the work of others, hire or fire employees, or provide recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other change of status of other employee.
