Nurse Educator


POSITION SUMMARY:# Assesses, plans, coordinates, implements, evaluates and documents educational services for employees throughout all divisions of UNC Health Southeastern to include orientation, mandatory education, continuing education and competency assessment.# Provides input into the development of policies and procedures for the Department of Learning and Professional Development.# Participates in hospital accreditation activities related to competency issues. #Assist with the on-going delivery of hospital-wide training. #Coordinates staff development, faculty and /or student nurse orientation as designated. # # EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE: Minimum Required:# Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing; graduate of an approved Registered Nurse Program with current licenses to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.#A minimum of five years RN#experience. #Possess the ability to provide classroom instruction#with a working knowledge of basic computer skills.# Previous work#experience in an education or teaching environment.# # Preferred:################## Ability to achieve BLS Instructor status and/ or nursing certification in chosen area of specialty.# #Possess education/training/experience in the principles of adult learning. #Proficiency in the use of audiovisual equipment, word processing and presentation software. # ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:# Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication and clinical practice relevant to neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.# Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently. # ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: # Supervises:###### ######## none # Reports To:############### Manager, Department of Learning and Professional Development POSITION SUMMARY: Assesses, plans, coordinates, implements, evaluates and documents educational services for employees throughout all divisions of UNC Health Southeastern to include orientation, mandatory education, continuing education and competency assessment.
