Associate Clinical Nurse Manager - Mainland Operating Room - Full Time

Position Summary The Associate Nurse Manager ensures expert nursing care delivery supporting staff education, achievement of quality outcomes, evidence-based clinical practice, and leadership. The Associate Nurse Manager supervises staff in their daily activities to ensure the delivery of care according to established departmental policies and procedures. This position assists the Nurse Manager and Clinical Director with resolving staff issues, participating in performance reviews, developing and implementing performance and patient improvement activities, and orienting new employees to the unit. The Associate Nurse Manager serves as a key co-leader on the unit for organizational updates, policy changes and education needs. This position establishes and maintains communication with physicians, patients and their families, and other professionals to promote mutual understanding of problems and plans of care. The position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor's in nursing. Seeks to obtain nurse leader certification through AACN or AONL within 2 years. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. American Heart Association BLS required. EXPERIENCE: Meets qualifications as outlined for specialty (see chart). Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as leadership skills required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Demonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. WORK ENVIRONMENT Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, blood-borne pathogens, and potential injury Physical demands include but are not limited to consideration stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing heavy equipment and excessive standing and walking. Lifting approximately 25-50 lbs. frequently; lifting 50-10 lbs. with assistance occasionally. Some departments require the ability to distinguish colors. Essential functions for this position are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP This position reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager as established and supervises the licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, and patient care unit staff. This position reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
