Job Summary and QualificationsThe Resource Nurse supports high quality, patient- centered care by offering feedback, guidance, and mentoring to new graduate nurses and/or nurses that are transitioning to a new specialty. The Resource Nurse supports multiple units. The Resource Nurse provides guidance and education on the hospital’s standard of nursing practice, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements.
What you will do in this role:
- Performs rounds on each nursing unit, continuously observing, assessing the quality of patient care, and identifying nursing educational needs. Escalates concerns about nursing skills, patient care, policies, processes, and equipment as appropriate.
- Serves as an example of professional nursing practice and promotes pride in nursing for the organization, the community, and the health care industry.
- Serves as a mentor and direct support for nursing colleagues.
- Seeks opportunities to impact the growth of the organization by promoting excellence in patient experience and providing high quality care to the patients served.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field
- Two (2) or more years’ experience as a RN
- One (1) or more years’ experience in a leadership role
- One (1) or more years’ experience as a preceptor
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required in 30 days
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required in 90 days
- Business Emergency Response Training (BERT) required in 90 days
- Preceptor Training, required in 90 days
