Facility
Norton Sound Regional Hospital
Critical access hospital where OB nurses are expected to float to Med Surg/ Tele/Psych and LTC. Overall they are use to travelers but turnaround is high. Schedule is usually determined by unit manager, no block scheduling or request. Cost of living is high so it helps housing is provided. Very rural and you will be walking to work when taxi cabs are not running.

About
Nome is a small town in western Alaska located on the coast of the Norton Sound. With only 3,500 residents, Nome is a quiet retreat from civilization. Due to its remote location, the city offers various unique opportunities for visitors. In the winter, you can easily see the Northern Lights just a few miles outside town. Another once-in-a-lifetime event is the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, otherwise known as the Alaskan Mardi Gras. This iconic dogsled race lasts 10 days and covers over 1,000 miles. Due to its history as a gold mining town, visitors to Nome can also tour old gold dredges and even try their hand at gold mining.
