Registered Nurse - Associate (UTHP Vascular Surgery MARC)

Job Summary: Under general supervision, provides direct nursing care to patients in a healthcare facility. Responsible for preparing equipment and aiding physician during treatment and examination of patients. Job Duties: 1. Provides direct nursing care to patients in a clinic setting to include: Preparing equipment and aiding physician during treatment and examination of patients, performing complex medical testing and providing interpretations of results, consulting with physicians and implementing treatment plans. 2. Administers prescribed medications and treatments, observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions. 3. Provides clinical oversight to Medical Assistants and LVNs. 4. Develops protocols and procedure manuals. 5. Performs daily maintenance checks and the preparation of rooms, instruments, supplies and performs or schedules routine maintenance of equipment. 6. Documents patient care and treatment and assists with training of staff. 7. Performs all other duties as assigned. Education: Associate's degree and successful completion of an accredited nursing program is required. Experience: Up to one (1) year of nursing experience is required. Additional Licenses and Certifications: Current Texas RN license required, CPR is required.
