Weekend hourly supplement and MOD rates will be discussed at the time of offer. Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA) is a 48-bed facility. It is Virginia's only public acute care psychiatric hospital serving individuals 17 years of age and below with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. We are located in the heart of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, conveniently at the crossroads of I-64 and I-81. We seek a dedicated and compassionate PMHNP to join our team to provide psychiatric services to assigned children and adolescents as well as their families in a high quality evidenced based manner and performing required admission assessment of patients brought to the hospital and responding to acute medical/psychiatric needs of all inpatients in person and for the duration of on-call period. Assumes responsibility for clinical services including admission assessment, diagnostic evaluations, medication management, individual/group/family therapy, as appropriate for assigned patients, in concert with the Treatment Team, under the supervision of a physician, if applicable. Works with interdisciplinary treatment team members to develop and implement high quality evaluation and treatment plans for patients. Works with treatment teams members to effectively reduce the use of seclusion and restraint. Completes required documentation within the established timeframes according to hospital policy. Supports the Center's relationship-based collaborative, trauma-informed model of care. Provide coverage for other NPs/physicians on weekdays, weekends, and holidays in rotation. CCCA mission is to provide a high quality acute psychiatric evaluation, crisis stabilization, and intensive short-term treatment that empowers children and their families to make developmentally appropriate choices and that strengthens children's hope, resilience, and self-esteem. Minimum Qualifications * License from the VA State Board of Nursing. (Employment is contingent upon receipt of license from the VA Board of Nursing.) * Drug Enforcement Administration license to prescribe controlled substances * Completion of an approved psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program with experience in child and adolescent psychiatric care. * Experience with diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and individual and family therapy. * Experience in pharmacotherapy practice with emphasis on pediatric populations. * May require collaborative practice agreement with supervising physician, if applicable.
