Cons
I recently started working with ICONMA. Everything was going well initially. During my orientation week, I was sent home four hours early on the last day. I called my point of contact to ask if I would still be paid for the full 36 hours that week. She assured me that I had guaranteed hours and would be paid since I wasn't the one asking to leave early. When I received my first paycheck, I noticed it was missing around $700. I called my point of contact, who assured me it was a misunderstanding and promised to fix it. I followed up with her throughout the week, and she continued to reassure me. However, the following Monday, she didn't respond to my call. I texted her, and she read my message but didn't reply. The next day, I called her twice with no response. In frustration, I sent an email detailing the situation to a couple of contacts I found at ICONMA. Shortly after, my point of contact called me back, informing me that the hospital doesn't guarantee hours during orientation week, so they deducted hours and a significant portion of my stipend. I was upset because other travelers informed me they received their full stipend in the first week, even without completing 36 hours. My next paycheck arrived, and they deducted my stipend again, presumably because I worked 71.98 hours instead of 72 hours that week. I spoke with the hospital manager, who said she had never heard of anyone having these problems and mentioned that she manages a unit with many travelers. This situation left me feeling misled and frustrated by my point of contact's lack of communication and support.
Pros
Definitely did not understand the role they were presenting. Did not understand the profile submitted. Single worst experience.
